Flashback: Making The Egg of Darkness

The last of the Squirrelings must go on an epic adventure to stop the evil emperor from using a powerful crystal to cover the world in darkness.

The animated adventure, The Egg of Darkness premiered in 2014 and garnered millions of views. Due to some issues, the film in it’s original form had to be removed from YouTube. It then went through a “Special Edition” process. Many scenes were altered and enhanced with better animation, shading, and color. It took months to redo and it was re-released featuring new characters The Squirrels from a new series William Sikora was also working on at the time. The Egg of Darkness: Special Edition premiered later that Fall.

Join Red, the squirrel as he journeys to save the world from the evil emperor of the Reptilias, who threatens to cover the land in darkness forever. Directed by William Sikora III. Starring: Tyler Parks, Christina Benthall, Tyler Jacob, William Sikora , Jason Marks, & Chris Alvarado. Inspired from 80’s fantasy films The Never Ending Story and The Dark Crystal, The Egg of Darkness is an animated film full of adventure and fun for the whole family.

Creating More Kids Content

“Kids are a huge passion of mine, creating content that is family-friendly has always been at the forefront of my career. There are many different things I work on, but I always come back to animation. As a kid myself, I would spend hundreds of hours playing Mario Paint on my Super Nintendo, creating cartoons and remaking my favorite Disney scenes set to music. Now, with The Squirrels, I am continuing that passion with episodes that have been coming out quarterly. It’s a lot of work for one person to do but I am now focusing on growing and will do what it takes to get there.” Sikora said.

The Squirrels released a new episode this April and featured some new characters. Now, Sikora is doing even more with upcoming children’s content like lullabies and short educational videos featuring those lovable squirrels.

“My first release will be Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star which will feature Abby and an adorable star, it’s a perfect little lullaby to put the little ones to bed.” Sikora continued.

The push for children’s content on YouTube has grown tremendously over the past couple years and Sikora Entertainment is ready to make some magic with their characters.

Aside from The Squirrels, the hit series Fluffy Friends, which is a puppet show for adults has seen great success but Sikora wants to also bring that over to the kids but that needs to be done carefully.

“We’ve thought about creating a Fluffy Friends JR. channel, but I don’t want to confuse audiences with content that may not be suitable for the little ones so I decided on moving away from that name and creating a separate entity that will be unveiled soon. This channel will feature only educational, children’s content; the goal is to get our growing Fluffy Friends audience to introduce the new channel to their own kids.” Sikora said.

There is a lot going on in terms of growth and figuring out where Sikora Entertainment will put it’s footprint on this earth but one thing is for sure, the dream of the kid who made movies on his Super Nintendo, will never give up.

Egg of Darkness Is Returning!!!

In a huge surprise announcement today, director William Sikora unveiled his plans for bringing back the smash hit The Egg of Darkness to BTV.

I am beyond excited to be bringing this film I worked so hard on back to the world. Due to the cease and desist from Rovio using their characters in our fan film, we were forced to take it down, sadly they didn’t like what we created but we know the fans loved it. It took a lot of deliberation, but I am happy to say that the project is already in production being re-imagined with our lovable Squirrel characters and I am certain the fans are going to enjoy it just as much as before! We are also throwing in a few surprises for those who have seen it before. Sikora said.

The film will retain the original voice actors and keep the story the same, except for a few tweaks in animation and seeing the birds as squirrels instead.  The Egg of Darkness will be globally re-released this November exclusively on BTV.  The director also unveiled a new trailer which gives fan a peek into the epic adventure awaiting them.

Sikora Unveils ‘The Squirrels’

The world is about to go nuts as we finally unveil our newest characters in the upcoming animated series, The Squirrels.

I am beyond excited to show these characters to the world and give them a taste of what is to come. The plan is to release animated shorts featuring this crazy family of squirrels who live in a tree, they will go on adventures, do parodies, and down the road, I’d love to see them in iPad children’s books and even games/apps.  Sikora said.

The Squirrels is the first original characters from Sikora Entertainment since 2012’s Rudy: The Christmas Ball. Although there have been many animated creations that featured other branded characters in parody shorts/fan films released from 2012 to 2014, the time is now for all original characters to take the spotlight.

Originals

With the critical acclaim of Patch, director William Sikora is setting out to create his own brand and with a goal to expand the characters across multiple platforms and entertainment venues, the real work is just beginning.

The Squirrels is set to premiere it’s first animated short sometime this year.
